Saudia opened its latest lounge at London Heathrow’s Terminal 4 on the 27th April. The lounge, which is open to Saudia guests and therefore SkyTeam partner airlines offers a completely different lounge experience in Terminal 4, which also plays home to Etihad and Qatar Airways’ signature lounges. “This exclusive space seamlessly blends modern luxury with authentic Saudi hospitality, offering a refined and luxurious experience for First and Business Class guests, as well the airline’s Alfursan Gold frequent flyer members,” states the airline’s press release.

The lounge – operated by Plaza Premium – which replaces the upper level of the original SkyTeam lounge gives what was a tired lounge environment a fresh new lease of life. The team at Saudia wanted to deliver luxurious offerings that showcase the warmth of Saudi hospitality, including traditional Saudi coffee and dates from the Kingdom.

While it’s perhaps not as important to some, the airline has opted to operate a dry lounge in Heathrow, which is a first for London’s largest airport. While there might not be champagne on tap, the airline has doubled down on premium mocktails and a bespoke Tea Experience in partnership with the London Tea Exchange.

There’s also a premium dining experience, with an international buffet, with a private VIP area offering à la carte dining and personalised butler service. Although this isn’t an important connecting hub for the airline, there are also luxury showers with Urban Apothecary amenities, prayer rooms, and a quiet zone. Guests can also enjoy fully equipped workspaces, along with high-speed Wi-Fi and charging stations—ensuring comfort and connectivity throughout their stay.

The airline is taking a contemporary, vibrant approach to the lounge interior, with refined accessories, such as sculptures and artwork, to elevate the ambiance. Enhanced lighting installations, like the ones above the Tea Bar add warmth and a luxurious feel to the space.

Rossen Dimitrov, Chief Guest Experience Officer at Saudia, said: “The launch of our new lounge at London Heathrow Terminal 4 is a testament to Saudia’s dedication to providing an exceptional travel experience that embodies the essence of Saudi hospitality. We are proud to offer our guests a premium space that combines comfort, luxury, and cultural richness, setting a new benchmark for international travel.”
